Prior to the start of the 2019-20 NBA season, the league implemented a new rule that mandates players to undergo height measurements without their shoes on for accuracy purposes.
Victor Wembanyama is set to become the NBA’s second-tallest player, with an official height of 7 feet, 3-1/2 inches without shoes, according to the San Antonio Spurs. This measurement is a half-inch taller than his previous claim of being 2.21 meters tall back in October. Although he has been listed on various sites as anywhere between 7-foot-2 and 7-foot-5, the NBA’s official listing puts him just below the tallest player in the league, Boban Marjanovic at 7-foot-4. Wembanyama was not present at the 2023 Draft Combine held in Chicago back in May, but the Spurs obtained his official measurement upon his arrival in San Antonio.
